Recently, the Passenger Vehicle Company of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products", and decides to recall certain Dongfeng Fengshen AX7 vehicles starting from August 1, 2016.
Recall Scope:
Dongfeng Fengshen AX7 vehicles produced between April 3, 2015 and September 15, 2015. According to the company's statistics, a total of 5,534 relevant vehicles are involved in mainland China.
Reason for Recall:
For vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to manufacturing reasons from the supplier, the side crash sensors work abnormally. Under extreme conditions, situations such as the airbag warning light turning on, accidental deployment of the airbag, or failure to deploy when the vehicle meets the deployment conditions may occur, which poses a safety hazard.
Solution:
The Passenger Vehicle Company of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. will replace the side crash sensors for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate the safety hazard. The Passenger Vehicle Company of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. will contact users within the recall scope via telephone, email, short message, letter and other methods through authorized dealers, and arrange the free inspection and replacement.
